TestAdvisor - Overview

What is TestAdvisor?

Your online presence must survive in a constantly changing environment of:

  • Browsers
  • Operating Systems
  • Mobile Hardware

Take back control of your testing and development with one simple app – TestAdvisor for Jira, based on real market data from 44 countries and we are constantly expanding our database. We process the data from multiple sources to provide the market share of active devices. TestAdvisor provides you with a clear test scope recommendation on where you should focus your testing, including predictions of future trends.

We developed a unique prediction engine to give you an insight into the future market shares. In order to do this, we use various techniques of applied mathematics and analyze all the complex details and dependencies between market data.

TestAdvisor can give you a list of mobile devices combined with mobile operating systems, a list of mobile browsers, or a list of desktop browsers with desktop operating systems.

Here are the 6 simple steps:

  1. Start from choosing what are you going to test:
  • Mobile apps
  • Online service over desktop browsers
  • Online service over mobile browsers

If you choose Mobile app our tool will let you include both smartphones, and tablets or you can select only one of them.

2. Pick the location of your users. You can choose a single country, or multiple countries from 44 locations in our database.

3. Choose a date (from the calendar) when you are planning to test your product.

4. Mark how long it will stay live, so when have you planned your next release? You can include a number of weeks, months, or years.

5. Last step is to select your target market coverage. Not sure what coverage to select? We advise you to start from 30% to get an overview. Later, you can play with the slider and customize the coverage.

6. Click the calculate button.

Based on what you have chosen in point 1, you will receive a list of phones, OS, and/or browser combinations representing the actual market penetration ranking list in your specific country or region.

Items with a white background will show the rankings of actual market data. Items with a green background will show the predicted market data for when your next software development cycle starts. You should integrate both (the actual and the predicted ranking) into your test scope to be on the safe side.
